Experienced journalist Kirsi Heikel appointed Senior Advisor at Miltton

Miltton has hired experienced news and current affairs journalist Kirsi Heikel, who’ll start as a Senior Advisor on 1 February 2023 and strengthen Miltton’s expertise in media and social phenomena.

Kirsi Heikel, M.Soc.Sci, joins Miltton from Yleisradio’s Politics and Society editorial team.

“Miltton has many talented professionals within the spheres of politics, media and society working in various fields in different countries, and it feels really great to be part of this team,” says Heikel.

Heikel has decades of experience in analyzing and reporting on social phenomena, decision-making and politics. She has been in charge of live broadcasts and worked as a presenter for several television programs such as A-studio, Ykkösaamu, A-talk and Aamu-tv. She is also a familiar face as a moderator of election debates and a sought-after presenter at events and debates.

At Miltton, Heikel works with industry experts to help organizations in the Nordic and Baltic countries understand society and its actors and build successful business based on that understanding.

From 2019 to 2022, she was a Nordic correspondent for Yle, based in Stockholm.

“I saw Sweden’s aberrant corona policies, the rise in gang violence and the historic NATO decision from the front row. These things have changed Swedish society in a short space of time and the changes are also reflected in Finland. Understanding them is important because Sweden is our closest partner,” says Heikel.
