What impact will the elections have on the Nordic countries, and Europe? How will transatlantic relations develop? This fall, Miltton is organizing two study trips to the United States, which will deepen your understanding of society’s and international relations’ most significant developments, technology, and the opportunities brought by NATO membership.

Data and technology in elections

In September, we will once again host the highly popular annual Hearts&Minds visit, focusing on election campaign communication and influence. The program is conducted in Washington, D.C., as usual, and will specifically explore the use of data and technology.

The content is aimed at Nordic experts and leaders in communication, social relations, and influencer communication. During the program, numerous American experts will be met, and dinner will be held at the legendary National Press Club.

One participant describes the Hearts&Minds program as follows:

“The program was outstanding, and speakers were very thought-provoking. The attention to detail was amazing. Inspiring dinner discussions elevated the experience and helped me reflect on the learnings. The whole program opened my horizons. Highly recommended!”

In the heart of the electrion excitement

On November 3–6, Miltton USA welcomes you to Washington for the annual Innovation and Leadership Study Tour – right at the time of the U.S. elections, on November 5th.

This year, the focus is on the impact of election results on Nordic Countries and Europe. You will be able to follow the election excitement in Washington at the election watch parties, but the program also includes much more.

You will have the opportunity to visit the World Bank, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the embassy, and a think tank. The program is aimed at Nordic business leaders and organizational executives.

Last year’s participant, Keva’s Chief Economist Joonas Rahkola, says the program provided a necessary update in a changing world.

“A high-quality overview of the most topical issues in economics, geopolitics, and technology in the U.S. The speakers and visits were of high caliber, and the program allowed for genuine discussions.”

A concide and necessary America update

The practical implementation of the programs is designed with Nordic participants in mind: they start and end so that the trips can be efficiently integrated into the workweek. We are happy to organize individual meetings outside the program so that participants can get the most out of their visit.

Especially with Finland and Sweden’s NATO membership, it is important to update one’s knowledge of the United States and create networks and relationships across the Atlantic.

Mikael Pentikäinen, CEO of the Finnish Entrepreneurs, who participated in the study tour in 2022, emphasizes the importance of the America update. For instance, the recently concluded DCA agreement with the United States could have concrete effects on numerous actors and entrepreneurs in Finland, for example, in terms of regional infrastructure investments.

“The Study Tour offered an excellent overview of the political climate and changing operating environment at a time when our relationship with the United States is increasingly important,” he says.

Our experience shows that Nordic visitors are warmly and eagerly welcomed in the United States, as NATO processes have brought exceptional visibility to the American markets. Additionally, American organizations and companies have a genuine need to create relationships with new ally countries.

The study trips offer an effective way to get acquainted with American culture, Washington’s unique operating environment, create networks, and increase one’s understanding. In addition to the study trips, Miltton’s experts help companies and organizations with measures related to the U.S. market. We offer services from the analysis and planning phase to strategy implementation.
