First business trip to Kyiv in October 2023

Miltton Ukraine came up with the observation that Finnish companies have limited perception of what is happening in Ukraine, judging from the TV news headlines that are only filled with frontline events, leaving aside other aspects of everyday life. We came with the idea that in order to believe, one has to see with his own eyes. In early October 2023, Miltton Ukraine facilitated the first visit of a Finnish business delegation to Kyiv:

Our primary task was to showcase a different Ukraine, highlighting the opportunities, advantages and help Finnish companies to gain a broader understanding of business climate by meeting with government officials and being involved in high-level discussions at the President’s Office, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
Miltton Ukraine crafted a tailored agenda for the offsite meetings, featuring interactions with government officials, and a visit to UnitCity – a leading business IT and startup cluster. Additionally, the delegation was part of a key business event, the Kyiv International Economic Forum. 
 Visits to nearby towns such as Bucha, Irpin, and Borodyanka offered participants a firsthand understanding of the severe effects of the Russian occupation at the beginning of the conflict in February-March 2022. These trips accented the significance of collaborative efforts in the reconstruction and revitalization of Ukraine.

Second business trip to Kyiv in January 2024

Despite the ongoing war, our Finnish partners showed resilience and travelled to Kyiv in January 2024 to explore business opportunities and contribute to the reconstruction efforts:

In this case, Finnish companies have shown interest in specific sectors but expressed a lack of understanding of the on-ground situations. The members of the trip needed to see firsthand the investment opportunities and have personal meetings with stakeholders.
This marked the second task for a tailored trip focusing on topics related to energy, healthcare, and general legal aspects of investments.
Before official meetings, we had introductory meetings from top investment experts Ruslan Spivak and Sergiy Tsivkach to provide insights into the economic and investment landscape. 
 Following the initial engagements, the trip agenda included meetings with key entities such as the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the head of the medical committee in the Verkhovna Rada, and the Kyiv City Regional Administration.
A notable activity was a visit to the Industrial Park in Bila Tserkva, which plays a crucial role in the economic development of the region.
