Kivinen’s career has been shaped by situations where strategic thinking, international cooperation, and operational capability under pressure have played a decisive role.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine awarded Kivinen the 1st Class Order of Merit in recognition of his contributions and long-term commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defence.
Kivinen’s appointment strengthens Miltton’s strategic development toward new areas of expertise, particularly in the international defence and security sectors. He complements Miltton’s team of experts, which also includes Lieutenant General Arto Räty, a board member of Nordic West Office.
