COP31 is taking shape: Finland’s Pavilion brings together scalable climate solutions

Together with partners, Miltton is actively shaping the Pavilion into a platform that brings Finnish solutions, expertise and collaboration to the global climate stage in Antalya in November 2026, with a growing group of companies and organizations already confirmed.

Leading companies and institutions already on board

At a time when the global focus is shifting from setting targets to delivering implementation, COP31 is becoming a key moment for turning climate ambition into concrete action.

Among the pavilion partners are leading Finnish companies such as Neste, Outokumpu and Coolbrook, alongside research institutions including Aalto University and University of Helsinki.

What brings them together is a shared ambition: to take proven solutions to the global stage, and into real-world implementation.

For these organizations, COP31 offers a platform to demonstrate concrete impact, engage with stakeholders from decision-makers to investors, and position their capabilities in a global market that is rapidly shifting toward low-carbon and resilient systems.

“COPs uniquely bring together companies that are already demonstrating climate action in practice. For the steel industry, decarbonization highly depends on predictable carbon pricing and a level playing field that makes long‑term investments in low‑emission production viable. With many of our strategic customers present, COP31 is also a practical platform to connect policy direction with real market demand and commercial decision‑making.”

– Heidi Peltonen, Vice President, Sustainability of Outokumpu

A climate actor with impact beyond its size

Finland is a strong climate actor with impact beyond its size. Already, 96% of Finland’s electricity production is fossil-free, and the transition toward carbon neutrality is progressing across industries, value chains and everyday life.

But Finland’s real strength lies not only in reducing its own emissions, but also in enabling others to do the same.

“We need to start using the solutions we have available today to reduce GHG emissions but that requires collaboration across value chains and stakeholders. We see COP31 as a platform to work together to bridge the gap between ambition and action, and to show how solutions developed in Finland can create impact globally.”

– Hanna Maula, Senior Vice President Communication & Marketing, Neste

This applies across sectors – from energy and heavy industry to the built environment, circular economy, digitalization and consumer markets – where Finnish companies and organizations are developing solutions that go beyond ambition. Many of these solutions are already in use, delivering measurable results across markets. They reduce emissions, strengthen resilience, and decrease dependence on fossil fuels, while making critical value chains more reliable. And crucially, they are designed to scale.

“Industrial electrification has a key role in accelerating the green transition. COP31 provides a global platform to connect breakthrough technologies with the scale of demand needed to accelerate the transition.”

– Joonas Rauramo, CEO, Coolbrook

Tested in Finland. Ready for the world.

Finland operates as a living laboratory for the future. Close collaboration between business, research and the public sector enables rapid testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. Ideas do not remain pilots but move quickly into implementation. If it works in Finland, it is built to work globally.

At COP31, the Finland Pavilion brings these actors and capabilities together. It serves both as a showcase and a meeting point, connecting businesses, policymakers, investors and researchers to accelerate the next phase of the green transition.

“We are participating in COP31 to strengthen science-based knowledge at the Finland Pavilion and to connect with organizations developing and scaling climate solutions. It is also an important opportunity to amplify our academic expertise in a global setting and build collaboration across sectors.”

– Kelly Brito Salas, Project Coordinator, HY + Aalto
