The delegation also included commercial representatives from the leading companies in the energy, construction, and insurance sectors, including Destia, Nocca, and Söderberg & Partners. The primary objective was to gain an in-depth understanding of Ukraine’s resilience amidst russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine and to explore partnerships that could contribute to the nation’s reconstruction efforts.

The visit was structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of Ukraine’s recovery priorities. The first day focused on high-level meetings with key ministries to outline the state’s reconstruction strategy. The delegation engaged with the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. Discussions centered on infrastructure development and protection, economic cooperation, war-risk insurance mechanisms, and environmental priorities to bolster Ukraine’s recovery.

The second day included discussions with agencies and municipal authorities, including a visit to Bucha. The delegation met with the Ukrenergo (the national energy transmission system operator), UkraineInvest, State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, and Ukrzaliznytsia (the state railway operator of Ukraine). These discussions underscored Ukraine’s experience in safeguarding vital infrastructure under challenging conditions and highlighted its readiness to partner with global leaders in this domain.

Another part of the delegation visited Bucha to assess local reconstruction efforts, where they met with the mayor, Anatolii Fedoruk. They observed several ongoing projects and discussed the city’s recovery strategies.

A meeting with the Ukrainian Developers Association facilitated discussions on the current state of the development market and potential collaborative opportunities for Finnish companies.

On the final day, the delegation engaged directly with leading Ukrainian businesses to explore collaboration opportunities in industrial recovery and construction. A visit to KOVALSKA’s headquarters and their concrete plant provided valuable insights into the company’s role in supporting Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts through innovative construction solutions. Similarly, the delegation met with Altera Group, discussing their contributions to industrial and infrastructure projects crucial for the nation’s recovery. These visits highlighted the potential for partnerships that leverage both Ukrainian and Finnish expertise in sustainable and resilient development.

The visit concluded with a networking event at the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs, which Miltton recently joined. This gathering provided a platform for fostering strategic partnerships between Ukrainian and Finnish companies by sharing and combining their best products and expertise.

Now, Finnish and Ukrainian stakeholders are continuing discussions initiated during the visit. The delegation’s time in Ukraine provided invaluable insights and established a solid foundation for potential future collaboration, including planned visits and concrete projects in the upcoming year.
