Executive summary

Sunly had grown beyond the Baltic States into Poland. To continue progressing as a cohesive group, they recognized the need to integrate the local organizational cultures. At cross-company summer days, we established concrete behavioral agreements and later formulated Sunly’s values based on these. 

One of the key initiatives for cultural integration was training nearly all employees on feedback skills. Sunly also initiated leadership training programs aimed at developing both leadership skills and a shared understanding of leadership quality across the organization. 

Insight highlights

  1. Growing with a common ground

    Sunly realized that in order to move forward as an international group, it is necessary to better understand each other’s organizational cultures and build common ground. 

  2. Local perspectives on culture were different

    Before the event, we gathered input from Sunly leaders in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Estonia to understand their local perspectives on culture.  

  3. Summer days

    With leader’s insights, we began focusing on building a coherent future culture for Sunly as a group. In addition to being a platform for discussion on values, the summer days workshops also provided an opportunity for international teams to network and integrate.

    People of a multinational company now share values and an understanding of how they do things in Sunly.  

  2. Feedback training

    In the process it became clear that giving and receiving constructive feedback is crucial to acting on agreed-upon behavioral agreements. To make it more convenient and rooted in the culture, we ran training sessions for nearly all Sunly employees.  

  3. Stronger leadership

    Sunly initiated leadership programs to develop both skills and a shared understanding of leadership style. These programs fostered networking across different regions and raised awareness about the critical role leaders play in shaping organizational culture.
